Mission 
Research Cell is to encourage scientific inquiry and innovation across all fields of medical science. By providing proper support and guidance to our researchers to undertake meaningful investigations that address need based healthcare challenges. 

Objectives 
  1. To present proper direction so as to enhance the overall atmosphere of biomedical research.
  2. To streamline the operational aspects of the research activities in the institute.
  3. To promote mission oriented and theme based inter-departmental, inter-institutional and inter-country research collaborations.
  4. To build-up mechanisms for a periodic assessment of research projects/schemes.
  5. To suggest better coordination with the funding agencies for encouraging time bound research activities.
  6. To coordinate intramural research grants for the faculties.

Functions 
1. Research cell coordinate, monitor, and promote research activities within the institution as per policies and guidelines of accreditation institutions 
2. Research cell play an advisory role in coordination and steering the research activity in various disciplines and department in the domain of the institution.
3. Research cell endorse IERB approved standard uniform guidelines and SOPs for research proposal development, submission and report writings for various disciplines and departments. 
4. Research cell arrange and manage the capacity building workshops on research methodology for faculty and students.
5. Research cell arrange research dissemination seminars and conferences to promote the research culture in the institution.
6. Research cell coordinate with IT and medical education unite for keeping data repository and records of ongoing and completed and published research outcomes of the various departments. 
7. Research cell act as a central hub for grant approval.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. A faculty member of Professor rank shall serve as the Chairperson of the IRB.
  2. The IRB shall consist of 3 to 7 members, constituted in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC).
  3. The Committee shall be responsible for granting ethical approval for all research activities conducted under the institution.
  4. The IRB shall review all research activities carried out within the institution to ensure compliance with ethical standards.
  5. The Committee shall convene at least one meeting every three months.
  6. The Committee shall conduct regular training programs for its members to maintain awareness and competence in research ethics.
  7. All research related to national and international standards shall be submitted to the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) as required.
  8. The Committee shall conduct regular training programs for its members to maintain proficiency and compliance with ethical standards.
  9. The IRB shall not oversee or conduct research activities of any institution other than its own.
  10. The IRB shall not undertake activities related to international institutions.
