Roles and Responsibilities

  • Planning and Organization
  1. Plan, coordinate, and conduct CME programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and guest lectures.
  2. Prepare an annual CME calendar in accordance with institutional goals and regulatory body guidelines (e.g., NMC).
  3. Identify learning needs of faculty, residents, and healthcare professionals.
  • Academic Development
  1. Promote lifelong learning and professional development among faculty and postgraduate students.
  2. Ensure CME activities are evidence-based and aligned with current medical advancements.
  3. Encourage interdisciplinary and interdepartmental academic activities.
  • Coordination and Communication
  1. Coordinate with departments, speakers, external experts, and professional bodies.
  2. Communicate schedules, topics, and objectives of CME activities to all stakeholders.
  3. Liaise with national and international organizations for accredited CME programs.
  • Accreditation and Compliance
  1. Ensure CME programs meet accreditation requirements of regulatory authorities.
  2. Maintain compliance with National Medical Commission (NMC) and institutional policies.
  3. Apply for CME credit hours and maintain accreditation records.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
  1. Maintain detailed records of CME activities, including attendance, topics, speakers, and feedback.
  2. Prepare reports for academic councils, management, and inspection bodies.
  3. Archive certificates, photographs, and supporting documents.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  1. Collect and analyze participant feedback to assess effectiveness of CME programs.
  2. Monitor participation of faculty and residents.
  3. Implement improvements based on evaluation outcomes.
  • Faculty Development
  1. Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), medical education technology (MET) workshops, and training sessions.
  2. Support faculty in updating teaching methodologies and assessment techniques.
  • Research and Innovation Support
  1. Encourage research-oriented CMEs and updates on recent guidelines.
  2. Promote innovation in teaching, learning, and clinical practice.
  • Ethical and Professional Standards
  1. Ensure ethical conduct and transparency in CME activities.
  2. Avoid conflicts of interest and ensure unbiased educational content.
  • Budget and Resource Management
  1. Assist in budgeting and optimal utilization of resources for CME activities.
  2. Ensure proper use of infrastructure and learning resources.
