Rules

The purpose of these rules & guidelines is to safeguard the common interest of all users and to enable the Library to carryout the functions as effective with as possible. It is mandatory for the Popular Medical College Library users to understand and hence agree to abide by the Library rules & guidelines.
Rules & quidelines:
1. Library is open to its (students and teachers) users only.
2. Library users are requested to show their identity upon entrance to validate entry.
3. Library users card is not transferable. It is a token of privilege which only the Library users for whom it is issued is entitled to.
4. Library users must behave properly in the Library with respect & consideration for the other users in order to maintain an appropriate study environment.
5. Order & silence must be observed strictly in the Library.
6. Bags, umbrellas, personal books etc. are not allowed into the Library. Storage facilities have been provided at the entries.
7. Food & drink is not permitted in the Library.
8. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Library.
9. Writing on the walls, tables, chair and other furniture & equipments in the Library is prohibited.
10. Tearing of page or mutilation of books and Journals is strictly prohibited.
11. Removal of the Library materials or property from the Library and moving the Library furniture from where it is placed by the Library staff is prohibited.
12. Sleeping and or lying in the Library premises is not permitted.
13. Use of mobile phones inside the Library is strictly prohibited.
14. Reservation of seats in the reading areas is not permitted. Books & other articles left for any length of time on chair & tables may be removed by the Library staff.
15. While leaving the library users must ensure that they are not carrying any library materials.
16. Users leaving the library may be subject to inspection of any library materials in their possession.
17. Library will not accept responsibility for the loss or misplacement of personal belonging.
18. Library has full right to revoke the users identity due to any violation of the rules.
19. Library staff has full right to request user to leave the library if he / she is found to be violating any of the library rules.
20. Library rules & guidelines will be modified time to time & will be posted on notice board.

Violation of any rules & guidelines is treated as punishable offence extending upto expulsion from the college.
